Howdy! Welcome to Diamond D Quarter Horses web site! We are located 12 miles west of
Davenport, Washington on State Highway 2. We raise quality bred Quarter Horses on our
working cattle ranch in the scab rock region of Eastern Washington. Our horses have willing
dispositions, great minds, athletic ability, are very cowy , and have color too! They are raised
to handle the rocky country we live in. With their strong bones and good feet, then can stand
up to years of hard ranch use. We raise cattle on our ranch and hire out to ride for other local
ranchers, this gives our horses plenty of work to do. The photo above shows our senior herd
sire,
Macs MK Bar with some of his broodmares out on summer pasture 2007.
Our horses carry the bloodlines of Two
Eyed Jack, Jessie James, Poco Pine,
Parker's Trouble, Doc Bar, Boston
Mac, , Page Lee, Freckles Playboy,
Doc's Lynx, Skipper's Lad, Pima

The photo at right shows Dusty checking
fence on a colt. This is the kind of work
our horses do almost every day, along
with gathering and moving cattle,
doctoring sick cattle, branding calves in
the spring, checking water holes, and
more. That is why it is important to us to
have good minded horses, with good
feet and bone, to handle the rough
country day in and day out. If a horse
can't handle it out here it's a long walk
back to the trailer, and we prefer a good
ride over a long walk any day!
I could tell you all about our show record, but simply put, we don't have one! With our busy ranch
schedule we haven't taken the time to show our horses. They are proving themselves day in and
day out on our ranch. The picture above shows
Macs MK Bar, aka Buck, during our spring 2006
branding. We brand our calves the "old fashioned" way. Our horses put in a long day on
branding day, gathering the cattle, sorting, pushing the cows up the alley to get vaccinated, and
roping the calves to be branded. This is a good test for our horses, a horse needs to have a
good mind, cow sense, athletic ability, and a big heart to put in a full day like this. Our horses
seem to love branding day and make our jobs a lot easier by being a willing partner to get the
jobs done. But, just because we don't show our horses it doesn't mean that you can't! They are
bred to work, show, breed, pleasure ride, or just plain enjoy!
Here is a brief explanation of how this site is set up. Please use the links at left to visit a
main page. On each of the main pages will be links to more detailed pages on each of
our horses or products. One horse may be on more than one main page, we have
some horses that are for sale and they will be listed on their main page and the horses
for sale page. There will also be links included throughout pages to help find more
information on an offspring's sire or dam. These links will be found by looking for any
underlined words, or clicking on a picture. Please take some time and enjoy exploring
the Diamond D! If you have any problems with the site or would like any more
information on any of our horses please feel free to drop us a line!
