Here are the true gems of the Diamond D. Without these fine mares, there would not be such
awesome foals! Some of these mares have been with us for years. Some have been good
ranch horses, others just good moms. We have been building this nice group of mares
through trial and error, finding the bloodlines we desire and the build that we like and then
crossing it on our stallions. By being selective we are trying not to raise your average nag, but
a horse that will succeed in whatever they are chosen to do. Some of the qualities that we look
for in our broodmares are: a good mind, good bone structure, good feet, willing attitude, and a
big heart. These mares do not lead a pampered life. They are in the elements 24/7. They
winter in the pasture getting fed good hay, and then foal in the pasture. We try to let them be
horses and raise their foals up to be good trustworthy horses. Please take some time and

"Goldie" is a nicely built mare with a LOT of chrome.
She has had two gorgeous palomino fillies by Macs MK
Bar one in 2007 and one in 2008. Her bloodlines
include Jackie Bee, Snipper Reed, and Music Mount.

Duck is a very sweet mare that is so quiet and
no fuss we often forget that she's out there!
This mare is very well built and bred to be a
cowhorse. Duck had a gorgeous Palomino filly
by Macs MK Bar in 2006. She is currently
being bred to him for a 2009 foal. Her
bloodlines include Mr San Peppy, Hollywood
Buck, and Otoe.

This mare is a daughter of Leos Dunny Skip. She
had a very cute little buckskin filly in 2006, a cute
little bay filly in 2007, and an awesome sorrel colt
by Macs MK Bar in 2008. Her bloodlines include Mr
San Peppy, Otoe, Snipper Reed, and Skipper's
Lark.

"Scats" was bred to cut and unfortunately cut the wrong
thing! After cutting her foot on some wire as a 2-year
old she is not 100% sound and therefore became a
broodmare. Scats had an awesome Buckskin colt by
Macs MK Bar. She had another awesome buckskin colt
this year by Macs MK Bar! Her bloodlines include
Freckles Playboy, Doc's Lynx, Jewel's Leo Bars, and
Rey Jay.
